The Christian Man Must
Flee From Temptation
Heaven Ministries
The bible is a very important
instruction book for Christians. The Christian man needs to heed God’s
messages, warnings, and teachings, if he wants his life to be blessed by
God. He must understand the wisdom of scripture. That the cravings of
the eyes, such as lust and pleasures of the world, such as immorality
and the boasting of these things comes from the world of unbelievers,
even if you see, which you often will, Christians partaking in it. (1 John 2:16-17)
God calls the Christian man to become
sanctified, which means separate from the world of common men. Set
apart for his purpose. God wants the Christian man to be His
disciple and be examples to others. But if the Christian
young man is just like every other young man, who does not know God,
then how is that being an example?
That every one of you should know how
to possess his vessel (body) in sanctification and honour: (1
Thessalonians 4:4)
But even the Christian man is not
perfect. What must he do to keep himself sanctified (set apart) from the
world for God? How can he keep himself from letting his emotions and
desires to rule his sensibilities? He needs to flee from temptation just
like he is asked to do. If he prays about it with sincerity and truly
wants to do what is right, God will give him the ability to just say NO!
For the grace of God that brings
salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches them to say “No” to
ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self controlled, upright
and godly lives in this present age! (Titus 2:11-12)
It is actually courageous to flee from
tempting situations. Don’t be embarrassed if you must leave a
situation so as to honor God with your body. Flee and run as fast as you
can!! God will bless you. God will give you the faith and strength to
just say “No” to the immorality around you. Not only that, but
persevering through temptations will produce Godly character in you. It
trains you to be the man and husband that God wants you to be.
Flee from sexual immorality. All other
sins a man commits are outside his body, by he who sins sexually sins
against his own body. Do you not know that your body is the temple of
the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are
not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your
body.(1 Corinthians 6:18-20)
What should you do if a lady flirts
with you? Should you reciprocate her actions, or should you let her know
that you are not interested in that from her? If a lady is
flirting with you, it may "feel" good to receive such
attention and it may be difficult for you to stop such feel good
desires that are brewing up within you. but you must understand that
it is just a temporary feeling because once your mind is not thinking
about the desire, it passes away, just like that. You walk away and it
is over. Don't upset the applecart with women who are only out for one
thing.
Besides that, is this the type of
woman you would want for your wife? Sure, she probably is not that
ungodly because she probably does not know any better. No one ever
taught her about staying a virgin until marriage, but if she is flirting
with you, how many other guys has she, and will she, give her attentions
to? Flirting may seem harmless to many of you reading this, and I used
to think the same thing, but flirting leads up to emotional lust and
desire that young Christian people should be trying to keep a lid
on.
The cravings of this world do NOT
prepare young people for marriage, but do exactly the opposite. Sex
without love and commitment means nothing! A godly man should be on his
guard against women who prey on men, and should not get involved with
them at all, not even as a friend. She may pull the same tricks. Why
keep temptation in your face? That is not a smart thing to do, is it?
Flee from temptation! Stay away from people, places and situations that
you know will be tempting.
